At Durante Rentals, we rent, sell, and service a full line of compaction equipment from rammers and plate compactors to trench rollers, walk-behind rollers, and ride-on rollers.
Compaction work is a requirement for many construction projects. It is vital to creating and maintaining structural foundations, retaining walls, roadways, and walkways. There is a multitude of tools and equipment dedicated to this process. Each piece of equipment is unique in its compaction ability and can compact specific types of loose material like soil, asphalt, sand, gravel, dirt, or clay.
Rammers, also known as jumping jacks, are available in 3,000lb and 3,500lb impact force units. Ideal for trench work, compaction around poles and in restricted spaces. Our rammers are designed for maximum efficiency, ease of handling, and operator comfort.

Plate compactors, available with either dirt, asphalt, or reversible plates, are ideal for a wide range of compaction applications. Small plates are ideal for jobs where rollers can’t fit or are not economical to operate – such as paving driveways or small pathways.
Trench rollers, also known as sheep foot rollers, are remote-controlled compaction rollers suitable for compaction of cohesive soil, both in confined areas such as trenches and roads. The infrared remote control system uses a line of sight control, which increases operator safety.
Walk-behind rollers are suitable for a wide range of soil and asphalt compaction applications.
Ride-on rollers come in several different sizes from 1 ton up to 5.7 tons. Ride-on double drum rollers are best for paving driveways, small streets, sidewalks, and bicycle trails. Smaller ride-on rollers are also used to complement bigger rollers for compacting cross joints and restricted spaces.

Cement Mixers vs. Mortar Mixers – What’s the Difference?
Cement and mortar mixers are similar in that they both quickly and thoroughly mix, but their functionality is quite different.
Cement (concrete) mixers have a drum that spins – picture the cement truck you see while driving down the road. The spinning action of the drum is what mixes the cement. Since the cement is being mixed on-site and not delivered via truck, there aren’t any concerns about premature settling. Our concrete mixers are gas-powered and offer drum capacities ranging from 6CF (1/2 to 1 bag) to 12CF (1.5 to 2 bags).
Mortar mixers, on the other hand, have a fixed drum that does not spin. Within the drum, there are paddles or arms that rotate in a circular fashion, mixing the materials. A mortar mixer is more of a heavy-duty mixer intended for stiffer, more abrasive mixes like mortar, stucco, thin set, plaster, epoxy, terrazzo, drywall mud, paint, or grout. Our mortar mixers are either gas or electric powered and offer capacities ranging from 9cf (2 bags) to 12cf (3 bags).

Depending on the type, our pumps can handle everything from clean water to mud, debris, rock, sludge and sewage. They require low maintenance, are easy to clean, come with powerful motors and are mostly gas-powered with some electric water pumps as well.
Submersible pumps are water pumps that can be completely submerged during the dewatering process. They are best suited for high-suction requirements of over 25 feet as they are designed to “push” the water up as opposed to “sucking” the water up. Our submersible sub pumps are lightweight and easy to manage, making them perfect for applications such as drains, trenches and irrigation systems. Learn more by reading our “How do Submersible Pumps Work” blog post.
Trash pumps are capable of handling solids such as debris or rock during the dewatering process. Our trash pumps are powerful and durable, perfect for even the most abrasive contracting applications. They range in suction size from 2″ to 4″.
Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps that have a high suction lift and can pump heavier liquids and solids such as sewage or mud slurries. Diaphragm pumps have the ability to dry run without water for extended periods of time without damaging the pump.
